Weight Loss Tips The Celebrities Follow

Ever wonder how it is that Jessica Alba looks so thin, even after having a baby? Well, here are some tips that she, and other A-list celebrities, follow for successful weight loss; and a couple you should not.

1.      Eat breakfast. A cup of oatmeal, for example, with some slices of fruit within half an hour of waking tells your body you’re not starving, so it will start to burn fat rather than store it.

2.      Cut out white foods, such as breads, pastas, and rice. These are high in sugar, so your body burns the sugar rather than the fat you actually want to lose.

3.      Be picky about your veggies. Avoid gassy fruits and vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower. Instead, go for ones like lettuce, cucumbers, celery, grapes, oranges, and melons, which flush your system, thereby banishing bloat.

4.      Get spicy. Foods like red pepper flakes, chopped jalapeños, and hot pepper sauce can cause you to eat less and burn more calories – literally. Only a quarter teaspoon of the flakes, or a dash of Tabasco sauce, is all you need.

5.      Bring a snack. Apple slices, low-fat string cheese, a handful of grapes, some crackers topped with chicken salad; snacks like these all contain between 150-200 calories, which keep the hunger at bay when eaten every 2-3 hours.

6.      Eat organic. While studies do not show a direct link to weight loss, you will certainly feel better after eating some grapes as opposed to a big bag of Cheese Nips.

Here are a couple of things you should avoid.

1.      Taking ADD meds. Don’t take any medication without a prescription from your doctor, especially ones for mental illnesses. Side effects include raised blood pressure and increased heart rate, not to mention mental problems. If you’re going to take a pill, get one designed for weight loss prescribed by your doctor.

2.      They “cleanse”. Diets like Master Cleanse or the Lemonade Diet are counterproductive. The weight you lose comes from water, not fat, which is why the scale drops significantly; but your metabolism slows down, making you more apt to regain weight once you stop. You can also become deficient in crucial minerals like potassium and sodium, which can lead to heart problems.

Even the celebrities are learning that when it comes to a diet, the healthier, the better, especially when it comes to weight loss. Losing weight does not have to be painful. For successful, safe, genuine weight loss, follow tips like these; most of Hollywood does.
